I've enhanced the newsletter module for you.

 

There is a new 'subscribe' token available. You can add this to your template or when you're editing your newletter blocks.

 

The validation is less anal now when you add a new newsletter too.

 

I was going to add 'Send to a friend' but this seems more appropriate on a page rather than a newsletter - Look at the social networking module at the bottom of this page. I reckon this is what you want on your site as an alternative.
